WAITERS

Job Purpose

Reporting to the Restaurant Supervisor, the incumbent will be responsible for acting as a link between the kitchen staff and the customers, taking customers’ orders and placing them accurately in the Nebula POS system and ensuring they are timely served in an efficient manner thereby providing an excellent dining experience.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Preparing mis-en-place before service starts.
• Welcoming customers and guests as they arrive and allocating them seats.
• Ensure crockery, cutlery and glassware are clean and polished before service.
• Taking orders for food and presenting to the kitchen for preparation.
• Setting tables and serving food & drinks.
• Ensuring customers are correctly charged as required, present the bill and take payment from the customer in accordance with the procedures of the hotel.
• Ensuring the tables are clean and tidy.
• Assisting in food/beverage cost control, control breakages of operating equipment and participate in stock taking as required.
• Offer menu recommendation upon request from the guests.
• Being updated with the hotel news such as new menu, events and share the same with the customers.

Qualifications/Requirements

• Diploma/Certificate in Hospitality Management.
• At least one (1) year proven work experience in service, preferably a hotel industry.
• Computer proficiency.
• Must have good knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Good interpersonal skills
• Ability to work well and remain calm under pressure.
